Understanding the Kelvin Scale

The Kelvin scale is an absolute thermodynamic temperature scale. It uses **absolute zero** (the theoretical temperature at which all thermal motion ceases) as its null point (0 K). The increment size of 1 Kelvin is exactly equal to 1 degree Celsius. The primary conversions are:

  • **Kelvin to Celsius:** \(C = K - 273.15\)
  • **Celsius to Kelvin:** \(K = C + 273.15\)
  • **Kelvin to Fahrenheit:** \(F = (K - 273.15) \times \frac{9}{5} + 32\)
  • **Fahrenheit to Kelvin:** \(K = (F - 32) \times \frac{5}{9} + 273.15\)
